Due to these new advancements in technology, it could eventually affect the work force of America. The lose of jobs may benefit production but not the economy or government when analyzing the long term effects. Some possible solutions to this very threatening problem are such: people man the robots to reduce malfunctions, constant making of these robots will require a large workforce, and maintaining such devices will also require a large workforce. So even though robots would take over a majority of the work, there are still others jobs that come along with these new advancements. Therefore, these new advancements may not be as detrimental as one may think. These solutions are all possible solutions to this new issue at hand but will still cause the lose of jobs. Also, if we could direct this new technology to making it easier and more efficient for the workers to do then they may not have to lose their jobs. Other solutions could be could be just not allowing it, direct our technology to other important things. This is an unethical approach but so is millions of people losing their jobs. Along with some of these thoughts, making the machines to where the have to be used by humans. Therefore, none of the workforce would be forced out of their jobs. Actually, when thinking deeply about if the machines are made to be directed by humans. other jobs would follow such as: maintaining, clean, fixing possible malfunctions, replace, installation, and the making of the machines. Ultimately, in some fields, could make life easier and lead to more jobs.
The unlikely future ahead of us (workers) due to advancements in technology is one that is intimidating to even think about. Soon robots will be able to complete the daily tasks we do at work and will ultimately take over the workforce. Some jobs that are affected by these new advancements in technology would be things such as mining, the medical field, and big time industries. One field that is affected but is ignored would be the medical field. Videos instruction have the potential to replace physical therapist, machines have the ability to replace surgeons, and could assist the elderly (even though that would be a little weird). This could lead to a fall in the economy because it could cause money to stop circulating which we all know is a terrible thing. Without any jobs for the people of America the government would have to eventually step in by aiding the unemployed, which would cause a problem in the government as well because as of right now, they are in debt 30 trillion dollars. These new advancements would be nice, as long everyone still has the ability to keep their job.

Blog 2:
Throughout Obama's speech he uses many different ways of connecting with reader, some in which were used correctly and others not so well. I will provide a few examples which exploits some of his attempts to the readers using ethos, logos, and pathos.
Ex 1:

"We all know the story of Abraham and Isaac. Abraham is ordered by God to offer up his only son, and without argument, he takes Isaac to the mountaintop, binds him to an altar, and raises his knife, prepared to act as God has commanded.
Of course, in the end God sends down an angel to intercede at the very last minute, and Abraham passes God's test of devotion.
But it's fair to say that if any of us leaving this church saw Abraham on a roof of a building raising his knife, we would, at the very least, call the police and expect the Department of Children and Family Services to take Isaac away from Abraham. We would do so because we do not hear what Abraham hears, do not see what Abraham sees, true as those experiences may be. So the best we can do is act in accordance with those things that we all see, and that we all hear, be it common laws or basic reason."- Barack Obama
Here he does a good job at appealing to logos, our character by use God as a way to do so. Although he does this well, it still may not appeal everyone due to different beliefs. Not only does this message have a bit of logos, but it also has an appeal to pathos because he tests the audiences imagination and sympathetic side by refering to the near death of Abraham. This is an excellent example of logos and pathos which helps Baracks point tremendously.
Ex 2:

Imagine Lincoln's Second Inaugural Address without reference to "the judgments of the Lord." Or King's I Have a Dream speech without references to "all of God's children." Their summoning of a higher truth helped inspire what had seemed impossible, and move the nation to embrace a common destiny.
In this example Barrack has a hint of logos, by providing an idea and backing it some sense of logic but it is very opinionated and he doesnt have much to support his claim besides his veiw of how it would be if they hadnt summoned the higher truth. This is a bad example of logos that was attempted to be used by Obama. By providing even a sentence or two of backround information would make this claim much more logical rather than an open-ended opinion.
Ex 3:
This brings me to my second point. Democracy demands /,that the religiously motivated translate their concerns into universal, rather than religion-specific, values. It requires that their proposals be subject to argument, and amenable to reason. I may be opposed to abortion for religious reasons, but if I seek to pass a law banning the practice, I cannot simply point to the teachings of my church or evoke God's will. I have to explain why abortion violates some principle that is accessible to people of all faiths, including those with no faith at all.
Pathos is something that is used is this paragraph because it allows the audience to indetify his point of view and connect in a way that is reasonable and understandable. By presenting his voice and tone in a way that is easy to connect with and an open mind makes it easy for the audience to understand his point of view. Using this approach works well for him in this situation because he is addressing something that is logical and does it in open minded matter.
These are few examples, good and bad, that help Barack get his point across. There are many other examples that are exemplified throughout his speech but these are a few that are great example of logos and pathos along with another bad representation of logos.

Blog 1, Baracks speech:
In this speech Obama uses the word faith as connection between all religions in order to prevail the idea that even though every religion has different beliefs or ideas, they all share similar morals in which people from every religion can connect or agree on. He evokes the idea that once we all agree on similar morals and have a open mind to different view points that we as a country will be able to thrive. If secularist can move past the idea of "leaving behind religion when entering the public square" (Barack) and religious people can enter with personal morals rather than what the bible commands them to do then shedding some biases to agree on deeper values or morals will be much more achievable according the Mr. Obama. He argues that we have to accept that this is more than a christian nation but a nation in which you can practice whatever religion you please, and that once this is accepted that we will better of as a nation when it comes to speaking on religious matters in regards to politics and we will be able to speak a bit more open-minded towards this subject. In his second point he states that even though he may believe in something due to his religious practice, doesn't mean that he should completely ignore or undermine it because that would not be approaching the topic with a open mind. An underlining purpose in this speech was not to address the religion issue but the issue that everyone needs to approach each topic with an open mind in which logic can sway your opinion on something. Once this is obtainable, the nation as a whole will not only be able to speech on religious matters but agree on subjects that normally would sway their vote. An open mind is key to the nation's success.
